Book Review: Intercepted (Playbook #1) by Alexa Martin

Rating: 5 Stars

Genre: Adult, Romance, Sports, Fiction

I enjoyed this book. I definitely recommend listening to the audiobook. Not many narrators are as animated as this one was and she nailed the emotions in the book perfectly (imo).

Intercepted is Book #1 in Alexa Martin’s “Playbook Series”.

Marlee, the main character, is a woman who has wasted 11 years of her life with a NFL player, Chris, who treats her like garbage and doesn’t deserve her. The new NFL season is about to start and the Denver Mustangs bring on Gavin to the team. However, Marlee and Gavin have a small past and Marlee hopes Gavin doesn’t remember that night, but he does. Gavin wanted to be with Marlee and he was going to prove to her that he was different and definitely not Chris.

Chris was a jerk and when she left him, I was rooting for her the whole time, she deserved so much better. When she finally leaves Chris, Gavin decides to work his way back into Marlee’s life. A lot of drama happens throughout this book, but I don’t expect anything less when we are dealing with sports and athlete’s wives lol.

I loved listening to how this entire story played out. I’ll stop here so I don’t give away too much, but I suggest listening to the audiobook, if you get a chance.

Have you read this book? What did you think?
