overview
Cruella De Vil is the perfect villain: stylish, witty, relentless…and possibly cursed.

From her lonely childhood, to her iconic fashion choices, to that fateful car crash (you know the one), Cruella tells all in this marvelous memoir of a woman doomed. Even the cruelest villains have best friends, true loves, and daring dreams. Now it’s Cruella’s turn to share hers.

The book that made me want to read the Villains Series to begin with, Evil Thing!

I actually enjoyed this book and I honestly thought it was A LOT better than the previous books. I felt like I actually read the background story of Cruella and was able to learn more about her without any distractions that had nothing to do with the main character. There were no mentions of the Odd Sisters in this story, which was great. While they were interesting, they always seemed to take over the stories and it usually ends up defeating the purpose of reading an origin story about the Villain.

I would also like to mention that you don’t need to read any of the previous books to understand anything in this book. It doesn’t connect with the other Villains and can be read without reading the 6 previous books. I think what made this book stand out it the fact that it was separate from the Villains we know of that have connections with the Disney Princesses. This book is set in a completely different world.

If you don’t read any of the other books in this series, I would definitely recommend reading Evil Thing.

My Rating:

4 star
