overview
“If the love doesn’t feel like ’90s R&B, I don’t want it!” To avoid being let down Toni Riley doesn’t ever make birthday plans, but a once in a lifetime private lesson with famed artist Arlan Parks just might be worth breaking the rules for. ‘90s Kinda Love is an R&B inspired erotic romance novella series that takes some of our favorite songs from our favorite decade and gives a whole new meaning to going “behind the music”. (Amazon)

I have been wanting to read this series for a while now. I first came across this book from someone I follow on Goodreads and have finally gotten around to reading the first book.

This book is about Toni. Toni is a guidance counselor and on her birthday she ends up sparking a conversation with a guy named Arlan. Her friend/co-worker catches them mid conversation and ends up setting them up on a date. Toni had no plans for a birthday, so agreed. Arlan has had a crush on Toni since he was in middle school. He eventually tells her this and then the rest is history.

This is a novella series and it gets steamyyy. Not too steamy to where it’s terrible, just enough steam to keep you hooked. I love black love and this was a cute little story. Can’t wait to let you all know what I think of the rest of the series!

My Rating:

4 star
