Book Review: Fumbled (Playbook #2) by Alexa Martin

Rating: 4 Starts

Genre: Adult, Fiction, Romance, Sports

I’m actually enjoying this series so far. TK & Poppy’s story was so cute.

Fumbled is Book#2 in Alexa Martin’s “Playbook Series”.

TK Moore, the starting wide receiver for the Denver Mustangs, is know for partying, being the fun guy and getting all the women. Poppy Patterson, is the single mother, who moved across country when she was just 16 years old, to try to have a better life (her mom kicked her out when she found she was pregnant).

Poppy wanted to avoid NFL players at all cost. Why? Because TK Moore was on the Denver Mustangs, TK Moore was her high school sweetheart and he was also the father of her son, Ace.

TK knew nothing about Ace. TK also never knew why Poppy disappeared out of his life either, but when he saw her, he wanted nothing but to be with her.

Yes, the whole “kid TK never knew about” scenario was kind of cliché, but it didn’t take away from the story (in my opinion). Their situation started off rocky, but they turned into a cute family. I love how protective TK was of Poppy and Ace and it showed how much he truly cared about and loved them.

I like how Alexa Martin shines light on the brain injuries that some football players suffer from. Personally, I never really thought about the extent of injuries that football players experience, so this brought some awareness in my eyes.

Personally, the way this ended, I kind of already seen it coming, so it wasn’t much of a shocker for me.

So far, in the Playbook series, Intercepted is my favorite.

Have you read this book? What did you think?
